A blog?

I know, right?  Another blog?  How many of you are just sitting around waiting to read someone else’s thoughts on her life?  Seriously, anyone?!? I have always enjoyed the friends of mine who have written down things about their lives…a little glimpse into their kitchens and homes I might not otherwise have.    I figured I’d find a place to write down my experiences in this crazy house full of children!  A place for me to have a record of the recipes I’ve tried, things I’ve done with the kids that worked, those crazy kid moments which noone will believe, just life.  So here we go…

I just got back from the naturopath last week for a visit for my son.  We got all kinds of test results back from hair, stool and blood samples sent off to the lab.  Some day you can ask me how fun all that was to collect!  Ewwww!  Anyway, we learned a lot about our oldest child and now have to change a lot about how we do life!  I have been toying with gluten free now for a year and a half and have found a pretty good supply of recipes I like and that the boys will eat.  But now we have to add in going light on the eggs.  Gone are my days of falling back on scrambled eggs for breakfast.  We also have to rotate different foods on a 4 day-ish schedule.  So apples, grapes, peanuts, walnuts, soy, sunflower, salmon, corn and cane sugar get rotated.  Who in the world, besides Nathan, has a reaction to cane sugar?  That is proving to be tough to eliminate from the day to day.  So, back to being fully g free and now to add in a lower sugar, lower egg plan.  My head spins when I think about it all!  On top of that, he gets to have digestive enzymes with every meal and additional good bacteria to improve his gut.  Since he can’t swallow pills yet these lovely things either get mixed into his drinks or sprinkled on his food.    This is the current plan for the next couple weeks.  Then comes the part of the plan where we try to get the excess of heavy metals out of his system.  His hair showed lead and a couple other metals at levels they shouldn’t be and a lot of good minerals at levels which are too low.  Piece by piece we unravel this child!
